Set AP to Operate in U-NII-3:
Aura strongly recommends operating only in U-NII –3. FCC Part 15 permits Tx power of up to 1 watt (or 1000mw) for point to multi – point networks in U-NII 3 and U-NII 3 is not subject to radar sweeps. By comparison regulatory Tx power is restricted in U-NII 1 and U-NII 2 to 250mw and channels in U-NII 2 are subject to periodic radar sweeps.
If the AP does not permit selection by U-NII band, then select one or more of the following U-NII-3 channels: 151, 153, 155, 157 or 159.
Note: If operating in U-NII 2, Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS) must be enabled. If not enabled, an AP operating in U-NII 2 must shut down during a radar sweep for a minimum of 30 minutes from the end of a radar sweep event and all client devices will lose connection to the network. If DFS is enabled an AP operating in U-NII 2 will advise connected client devices that it is changing to channels in U-NII 1 or U-NII 3 and the client devices will follow the AP to the alternative channels.
Signal Threshold: If possible, do not set a minimum RSS threshold. If a value is required, set AP minimum RSS thresholds to -95dbi or higher (e.g. up to -102dbi).
